I've been blogging for more than a month now. It's only been a month and yet I can no longer remember where I learned about Technorati and how I started to get links. I do remember quite vividly that I reviewed John Chow's blog to get a link in return. I think that got me addicted to increasing my ranking. I started getting some ranking buttons from Philippine blog listings: Top Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top Blogs, Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top 100 and Blog Junkie. I also solicited links from other bloggers. I got listed in several blog directories (they don't give links though). I signed up for Philippine blog aggregators PinoyBlog: The Philippines According to Blogs and Pinoy Blogosphere. I also joined Promote Your Site and bla.st. From 2.6 millionth when I started, now I'm ranked 83,319th by Technorati. Not so bad for a starter like me. What do you think? Then there was the rumored link farm, Tino Buntic's 2000 bloggers. I didn't make it though because my blog is new, Jaypee made it!
Yesterday, I learned about the Z-list (started by Mark Collier) from Douglas Karr. In an effort to bring more link-love to those blogs that we feel aren't getting their due, a list of blogs is given below which gives them automatic links via this post. The idea is to create a meme built around giving link-love to the blogs that deserve it, and hopefully turn Technorati's system of using a blog's number of links to determine its 'authority', on its ear.
So here it goes....
I got my Z-list from EastCoastLife
Instructions:
Write a post, and copy and paste my list from below into it. Make sure the links are active and correct. If your blog is on that list, remove it because your post isn’t about self-promotion. Don’t worry, because if your name is on mine, it’s on others and will spread. Add your favourite deserving blogs to the top of the list (not compulsory). Publish the post. People will notice the incoming links, and hopefully write their own z-list posts. The result will be that we all get more links pointing to our blogs, and more readers - it's got to be good!
Key Points:
1) Create a new post on your blog.
2) Copy and Paste the entire list of blog links below
3) Add any blogs that you want to include near the top of the list. (Optional)
4) Include the blog where you first got the list from, on the list in your post.
5) Do not include your own blog links on the list in your post.
6) Make sure that all links are copied intact.
7) Publish the Post.

Hello, I already post about z-list in my blog so I'm leaving my comment here to get a link. Thanks. :)
Thanks for the mention and for putting up the Z-List. Congratulations on your quick move up Technorati. Hard work and great content move blogs... but so does linking to other blogs because it spreads the word on your own.
Posting the Z-list not only gets the Z-List exposure, it gets everyone on the Z-List to come over and say hello.
Hello!
Warmest Regards,
Doug
Hi Bean,
Thanks for the mention and for the link love. I'm still thinking whether to join this Z-list but it looks interesting and fun just like the 2000 Bloggers Project. Have a good weekend! :)
Jaypee
Congrats for the Filipino Blog of the Week Award. Claim your award and please link back.
Keep the Pinoy blogging community alive!
Vee - you've been linked. I went to check out your site and left you a message.

Jaypee - I went to your site and left a message
TalkSmart - I won?!? *wink*
Your blog has been added, thanks for participating.
Hi! I've posted my z-list too. Looks like fun! :-)
@Bean - really? which post was it? sorry but I don't remember seeing any comments from you. could've gone to the spam queue.
Shiok blog indeed, but not sure about the "link spamming". Technorati seems to be as inaccurate as every other stats service I've looked at anyway.
just added your blog, thanks for the visit. got links? got you ;)
Hey there! Sorry I wasn't able to get in touch about your message the last time. I have been busy :)
anyways,I'll try z-listing the next time when I'm not busy! I have already claimed my blog at Technorati too but I'm not opening it most of the time...thanks!
God bless :)
Hey there culture shiock!
I came across your site and gave you a full bowl of Sinangag. mmmmm! ;)
I really appreciate your dedication and effort on your blog. It is where i want my blog to be in the next coming weeks. hopefully. ;)
I have a blog about agloco. And im not doing it just for its sake. Im helping Fellow Filipinos earn more by posting their referral codes on my blog.( my first posting is yet to come).
I would really appreciate it if you check out my blog and give me a chance to have a link to my site.
Im having the Z-List too.
Mabuhay tayo at ang mga Pinoy Bloggers!
