The Little Red Dot: Where in the world is Singapore?

Singapore is definitely not in China.

But seriously, do you know exactly where Singapore is located?

Affectionately called the little red dot by its citizens, the Republic of Singapore, the second smallest country in Asia, consists of Singapore Island and several smaller adjacent islets.

It is situated in the Indian Ocean off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore is connected to the nearby western portion of Malaysia by a causeway 1,056 m (3,465 ft) in length across the narrow Johore Strait. Singapore's position at the eastern end of the Strait of Malacca, which separates western Malaysia and the Indonesian island of Sumatra, has given it economic and strategic importance out of proportion to its small size. Singapore's capital city, Singapore, is located on the country's southern coast.

“Little red dot is sometimes misunderstood”: The key reason for this is Singapore’s unique position: It is neither a developed or developing country, nor fully a member of the East or West. “The world is mystified by us, how a little red dot has done so much is the source of much misunderstanding.” -Straits Times (Singapore) (Jan. 20 2005)

Tuldok ka lang! Hehe. Pero seriously, the small island of Singapore has done so much in a few decades. Maraming positive na mga bagay na matututunan ang Pinas dito para umunlad tayo.

Nice blog, Shiok!, I'd link to your site.
