MyBlogLog Community Outreach

It's always good to know the people in our community. MyBlogLog is where you can browse through different people's profile and blogs. It allows you to create a community made up of your readers and friends. This also let you see other communities and join them.

With the success of the Technorati Favorites Exchange Train, now comes the MyBlogLog Community Outreach Chain, a links chain where you get to know more bloggers by joining their communities.

Being active in the community is a one way of supporting your favorite blogs. Nice4Rice.com added Culture Shiok! for being it's all-time top rice-earner. Nice4Rice broke into Technorati's top 100,000 blogs, partly because of the train-chain which gives those much needed backlinks.

I'm adding my most active visitors Tina of Life is Abundant, Adianka of Wait! Who said That? and Cha of Gothique: Random Thoughts.

For those who want to join the train, just follow the rules below and set it on a new journey from your own blog! You don't have to be on the list to join.

To get started, here you go:

***Start Copying Here:***

Here are the rules:
1) Write a short introduction about how you found this list and include a link back to that blog.
2) COPY the rules and ENTIRE list below and post it on your blog.
3) Take “My New Community Members” and move them into the “The Original Community Members” list.
4) Find 3 new blogs, join their MyBlogLog Community and add them to the “My New Community Members” section. Remember to also add the “Join the Community” link next to your new blogs. ( Example: http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/community/yourblog/)
5) Join as a member to each Community listed here by clicking on “Join the Community”. The goal is that all of the new Members listed will join your community, and you should do the same!

Technorati Favorites Exchange Chain

Some say the Technorati Top 100 Most Favorited is a list that is much easier to break into...

That is... if you or your blog is famous. As Technorati puts it... "The biggest blogs in the blogosphere..."

The Technorati Top 100 Most Favorited is simply a list of blogs according to the number of people who have favorited them in their Technorati account.

Getting into the most favorited list does not depend on any other variable factors (such as link count over a period of time) except the number of favorites each blog receives.

I first encountered this exchange when Dosh Dosh dropped me a message on MyBlogLog, inviting me to participate.

Started by Gary Lee, as a mini-train in an effort to build some traffic to his site, it has already brought him into the Top 100 Most Favorited. This should also get some unique backlinks and a sure rise up the rankings. I saw it at Samanathon.com and was already thinking how I can get into it.

Luckily I was added by Spud Oregon of Nice4Rice.com for being the Top Rice Earner. Also added was FruityOaty and Super Happy Fun Comedy Corner.

Keep the train moving!

***Start Copying Here:***

Here are the rules:

1) Write a short introduction paragraph about what how you found the list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.

2) COPY the Rules and ENTIRE list below and post it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can accessible for, go ahead and change the title of the blog. Just don’t change the links of the blog.

3) Take “My New Faves” and move them into the “The Original Faves” list.

4) Add 3 Blogs that you’ve just added to your Technorati Favorites to the “My New Faves” section. Remember to also add the “Fave Me” link next to your new blogs (i.e. http://technorati.com/faves?sub=addfavbtn&add=http://www.yourfavesdomain.com)

5) Add Everyone on this list to your Technorati Favorites List by clicking on “Fave the Site.” Those who want good kharma will fave you back. If not, you will for sure get the benefits of faves from the bloggers who continue this list after you.

What I did to get a higher ranking at Technorati? John Chow, link exchange, the 2000 Bloggers and The Z-list

I've been blogging for more than a month now. It's only been a month and yet I can no longer remember where I learned about Technorati and how I started to get links. I do remember quite vividly that I reviewed John Chow's blog to get a link in return. I think that got me addicted to increasing my ranking. I started getting some ranking buttons from Philippine blog listings: Top Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top Blogs, Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top 100 and Blog Junkie. I also solicited links from other bloggers. I got listed in several blog directories (they don't give links though). I signed up for Philippine blog aggregators PinoyBlog: The Philippines According to Blogs and Pinoy Blogosphere. I also joined Promote Your Site and bla.st. From 2.6 millionth when I started, now I'm ranked 83,319th by Technorati. Not so bad for a starter like me. What do you think?

Then there was the rumored link farm, Tino Buntic's 2000 bloggers. I didn't make it though because my blog is new, Jaypee made it!

Yesterday, I learned about the Z-list (started by Mark Collier) from Douglas Karr. In an effort to bring more link-love to those blogs that we feel aren't getting their due, a list of blogs is given below which gives them automatic links via this post. The idea is to create a meme built around giving link-love to the blogs that deserve it, and hopefully turn Technorati's system of using a blog's number of links to determine its 'authority', on its ear.

So here it goes....

I got my Z-list from EastCoastLife

Instructions:
Write a post, and copy and paste my list from below into it. Make sure the links are active and correct. If your blog is on that list, remove it because your post isn’t about self-promotion. Don’t worry, because if your name is on mine, it’s on others and will spread. Add your favourite deserving blogs to the top of the list (not compulsory). Publish the post. People will notice the incoming links, and hopefully write their own z-list posts. The result will be that we all get more links pointing to our blogs, and more readers - it's got to be good!

Key Points:
1) Create a new post on your blog.
2) Copy and Paste the entire list of blog links below
3) Add any blogs that you want to include near the top of the list. (Optional)
4) Include the blog where you first got the list from, on the list in your post.
5) Do not include your own blog links on the list in your post.
6) Make sure that all links are copied intact.
7) Publish the Post.
